We aren't used to camping in April. The earliest we've ever braved camping is traditionally Mother's Day weekend. Since our seasonal spot is open in mid-April we feel compelled to go. Plus we enjoy it. This weekend it rained and rained and rained on Saturday. Oh, and it was chilly as well. Not the best conditions but Friday night was nice and we were able to have a campfire Saturday night. It was worth it to hang out in the rain all day just to listen to the hilarity that ensued at the campfire that evening. Most of the entertainment was provided by our friends' camping neighbor who was having a "girls camping weekend" and partied pretty well on Saturday night. We could clearly hear their music and singing coming from their camper and could see their shadows dancing around (they around probably late 30's early 40's age range). At one point we caught them peeking out their window at us and we gave them a round of applause. We also joined them in a few songs but they were oblivious. During the day the kids snuggled up in the back of the camper with their games and TV and the adults played Spades - girls against guys as always.
Last but definitely not least come heck or high water Brock was going to get the new fire pit built. He and his buds and the boy children worked in the cold drizzle. I think it was so worth it! Check out the before and after pics below! Great job guys!!
